The Team
Hannah Pickard RVT, VTS(DI)Hannah was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario. She attended Seneca College in King City for the Registered Veterinary Technician program. Upon graduation she worked as an RVT in an ambulatory equine practice. It was through working with performance horses and their lameness issues that she initially discovered her interest in diagnostic imaging. In 2018 she joined the Diagnostic Imaging department at the Ontario Veterinary College where she expanded her skill set across multiple modalities and species. This is where she developed a passion for ultrasound in particular, leading her to eventually co-found and operate HS Ultrasound. In 2024 she earned her Veterinary Technician Specialty accreditation in Diagnostic Imaging. With the goal of educating and helping others advance in the diagnostic imaging field, she currently serves on the Credentials Committee for the AVTDI as well as working as a diagnostic ultrasound instructor for miEducation, a veterinary continuing education company..Shannon Wood RVTShannon grew up in Elmira, Ontario. She is a dedicated veterinary professional with a passion for animal care, which led her to graduate from Sheridan College as a Veterinary Technician in 2013. Her career journey includes valuable experience from a variety of hospitals, including a role as a Registered Veterinary Technician in internal medicine at Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto, where she developed advanced clinical skills. In 2018 she began working at the Ontario Veterinary College in diagnostic imaging — a position that sparked her keen interest in imaging modalities, particularly ultrasound. This passion led her to co-found and operate HS Ultrasound, a mobile ultrasound company committed to enhancing diagnostic imaging in the veterinary field. Her diverse expertise reinforces her dedication to improving the quality of care for animals. She hopes to contribute to the veterinary field, continuing to teach, share and educate future professionals.
